In preparation for the learning group meeting, please take a few minutes to review the
Course Outline &
Syllabus<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F7oyhgU2xs6KwehN_B06oaQg6qK….0>,
specifically the sections titled Course Overview and February 2026: Foundational Concepts.
The document is located in our shared Google
Folder<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/160jLyX9yf7x8KX9oDc-ORMEoL…nk>,
which I recommend that you bookmark.
Additionally, here are some FAQs that may help you out:
*
Will these meetings be recorded? Yes! All meetings will be recorded and available in our
shared Google Folder.
*
Do I need to be "excused" from meetings that I miss? No. This is not a
traditional class, and I am not taking attendance. This experience is purely for your own
edification and camaraderie with other catalogers. If you need to miss a meeting, just
miss it and try to watch the recording afterwards.
*
Do I need to watch/read all the recommended content each month? No. Again, this is not a
traditional class, so just complete what makes sense for your unique learning goals.
*
Should I keep my camera on during meetings? Ideally, I would love your camera to be on for
the peer group discussions. I have found from experience that discussions are livelier and
more engaging when people can see one another. But I understand that it's not always
possible to be on camera, so I leave it to your judgement.
Please reach out if you have any other questions. Otherwise, I will see you next week.
Best,
Amy
